Birding in Oribi Gorge

Make sure you bring your camera and binoculars with you when you visit Wild 5 Adventures. People jumping off of the cliff will not be the only airborne photo you will see. As the Oribi Gorge offers some of the best birding in South Africa!

The reserve itself is 1837 hectares and is in the center of a long stretch of gorge along the Mzimkhulwana River.
You are bound to see a large range of bird species such as the African Wood-Owl, Black Cuckoo Shrike, African Pygmy-Kingfisher, Olive Woodpecker, African Finfoot, Cape Vulture, Forest Buzzard, Brown-Scrub Robin, Narina Trogan, Lemon Dove, Purple Crested Ruraco and the Striped Pipit. Some of the winter visitors consist of the Malachite Sunbird, Gurney’s Sugarbird and more.
You won’t be disappointed with a trip to Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. There is so much to see and is a great way to spend the day with the family.
