At Wild 5 Adventures you can find an abundance of wild life. Animal conservation is very important to us and we believe this is an initiative worth shedding light on.

As the death toll of rhinos poached for their horns continues to rise, each and every individual rhino is important to ensure that sufficient animals are protected to safeguard the generic viability of the species. In Kwa-Zulu Natal area there is not yet a rhino orphanage that is equipped to take and care for orphan rhinos, therefore the objective for this rhino rehab is to rescue and rehabilitate healthy, viable, self-sustaining rhino back into suitable/appropriate habitat, ultimately to breed and successfully rear young.

The main reason rhinos need to be rescued is the untimely death of a small un-weaned calf’s mother or wounded rhinos that have survived poaching incidents. It is not always rhino from poaching incidents that need to be rescued; it is also abandoned or unwanted rhinos.

These rhinos are extremely stressed and traumatized, especially from poaching incidents and with the orphanage we will create a safe haven for these babies to recover from their ordeal.
